What is Lyrics Alignment?
Lyrics Alignment shows where each lyric line appears in an eligible AI-generated song. It helps you listen to individual phrases, review how the words are timed, and decide whether a line feels natural, rushed, or stretched.
Does Lyrics Alignment change my song automatically?
No. Reviewing a lyric line or adjusting its phrase range does not change the audio. You decide whether to keep the phrase, rewrite the lyric, or generate another local performance.
Can Lyrics Alignment tell me whether the timing is correct?
Not in an absolute musical sense. The tool can detect where a lyric phrase appears, but it does not know what your intended melody or rhythm was. You listen to the phrase and decide whether it feels right.
Can I see when each lyric line starts and ends?
Yes, when reliable timing is available for the song. Each resolved lyric line receives a detected phrase range you can use for playback and review. Automatic timing is not always exact, so you can adjust the range when needed.
Can I manually adjust the detected phrase range?
Yes. You can drag the phrase boundaries when the automatic selection begins too early or ends too late. Changing the range does not retime the existing vocal -- it only changes the section used for review or regeneration.
Why does one lyric line sound rushed?
The phrase may contain more words or syllables than feel comfortable in the available musical space. You can shorten the lyric, regenerate the phrasing, or use MIDI to Vocals when you need more exact control.
Why does one line sound too stretched?
A short lyric may be held across more musical space than you expected, or the generated performance may sustain syllables longer than you want. Try another local phrasing or adjust the lyric if the words themselves are part of the problem.
Can I keep the same lyrics and only try different phrasing?
Yes. Use Regenerate Phrasing to keep the same lyric text while creating another local performance of the selected phrase. The regenerated section may still vary in melody, timing, or vocal character.
Can I move a word to an exact beat?
Not with this workflow. Lyrics Alignment works at the phrase/line level, not word-by-word or note-by-note. For precise control over individual notes and timing, use MIDI to Vocals.
What's the difference between Lyrics Alignment and Lyric Lock?
Lyric Lock focuses on whether the generated vocal followed the lyrics you submitted. Lyrics Alignment focuses on where those lyrics appear and how the phrasing feels in time. Use Lyric Lock to review the words; use Lyrics Alignment to review the performance.
What's the difference between Lyrics Alignment and Fix a Line?
Lyrics Alignment helps you locate and diagnose a phrase. Fix a Line regenerates the selected region when you want to replace the lyric or create another local performance.
Is the detected timing always accurate?
No. Automatic timing can be affected by backing vocals, reverb, dense instrumentation, unusual pronunciation, long sustained notes, or other audio characteristics. Always listen to the selected phrase and adjust the range manually when needed.
